About Gallop & Bound
At Gallop and Bound Physiotherapy, Natalie’s Chartered status demonstrates that she works under the protected title of a Chartered Physiotherapist. In working with people, before specialising in animals, she has developed a thorough understanding of the relationship between symptoms and diagnoses, whilst gaining experience in associating palpation findings with verbalised patient experience. This aids the understanding of what an animal may feel when verbal feedback is lacking, which supplements her interpretation of their behaviours.
Meet the founder.
Hi, I’m Natalie, a Chartered Physiotherapist based in Dorset, covering Dorset and parts of Hampshire. Wiltshire and Somerset.
I have had an affinity with animals from a young age, growing up with cats, dogs and horses, primarily, and competed in my first hunter trial as a 5-year-old. My love of both caring for animals and working with them in a team continued throughout my childhood and into adult life. Prior to my physiotherapy training, I have worked in kennels and on Dressage, Showjumping, Eventing and Hunt yards. Between degrees, I then turned to wildlife when I volunteered in South Africa at a Horseback Safari and Conservation setup. My time here extended my animal experience to handling meerkats, serval and lions, to name a few.
I have always known my career would revolve around animals, which first led me to Hartpury University, where I completed an Equestrian Sports Science degree in 2013, achieving a First Class Hons. This degree helped expand my knowledge into how the horse and human work together in sport. It was during this degree that I looked to physiotherapy. I travelled to Aberdeen’s Robert Gordon University to complete my Masters in Physiotherapy (Pre-Registration) in 2016, where I achieved a Pass with Distinction and gained my Chartered status.
I moved to Bournemouth to accept a job in private practice, and have since treated people in various private settings, including musculoskeletal clinics, neurological centres, hospitals and sports clubs. Finally, I completed my Masters in Veterinary Physiotherapy back at Hartpury University, achieving another Pass with Distinction, and became ACPAT accredited and the owner of Gallop and Bound Physiotherapy in 2022.
